One of the participants in the Spanish Supercopa semifinal, Kevin Gameiro, explained the hurt the players felt after falling to defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.
"We are very hurt tonight, but we need to focus on the future right away and forget about what happened," he said.
"We didn't see the real Valencia CF tonight, but we have to learn from this game so that there is no repeat of it in the second half of the season."
The Valencia CF striker emphasised that there are no excuses for the result, saying that "The team failed tonight and that's that: We lost. We have days to come in which to prepare well for the LaLiga game against Mallorca, and we will fight to the end in that one. Tonight nothing worked out for us. We weren't at our true level and you could see that in everything we did."
"I understand why the fans would be angry, but we have the second half of the season to see the Valencia CF that we want to see."
